Both offspring were sired by Peruvian Best ala' Best. Absolutely, the most pre-potent male we have ever used in our breeding program! Nearly each cria appears like they are clones having correct conformations and truly beautiful, unusually bright and well structured, nicely disciplined fleeces. When opening the blankets, the visual impact is often referred to as stunning. This is one of the very rare studs who can repeatedly win an extremely competitive Get of Sire class with colored get. NEWS FLASH: 2008 PAOBA Breeder's Showcase placement highlights for Simba offspring - A.L. Paca's Blues Breaker and A.L. Paca's Crossfire competed in the same class (light fawn yearling males) with Blues Breaker winning 1st and Crossfire taking 2nd. Blues Breaker then went on to win Light Male Color Champion (his 6th championship to date). A.L. Paca's Cocopuff won 1st in medium fawn females and then claimed Fawn Female Color Champion. A.L. Paca's Dazzling Diamond won her class of light fawn females. Simba's Silver Maze also won his class of light rose grey males. Duncan of Tartan Acres was first in his class of brown yearling males and then was awarded Brown Male Color Champion. In all, a total of three Simba offspring won Color Champion at the show. The show was running far behind, so the all important Get-of-Sire class did not get started until until 8 PM. Surprisingly, a number of breeders stayed around for this class and 5 males were represented. We had three juvenile Simba daughters for the Get. Dr. Julio Sumar and Diana Timmerman awarded 1st place to this group with Dr. Julio Sumar saying they were so identical, they looked like clones! Breeding fee: $5,000. We are also offering outside breedings to his first born, multi-color champion son A.L. Paca's Copper Top who settled his first female in Summer 2007. Paca’s (LF) Dam: Grey Fox Peruvian Vixen (MF) ARI: 1373844, Color: Medium Brown; DOB: 8/16/05 Copper Top is our first Simba cria and what a surprise he was! During birth when his head and neck were first being presented, we could see tight curls everywhere underneath the membrane. Never before had we witnessed so much crimp on a newborn! We knew we had something unusually special going on right from day one. He grew up especially nicely and became one of our favorite alpacas to take into the show ring as it is so much fun to see the judge's reaction when they touch and open his fleece. This male certainly has a fineness and brightness which is so unusual to find in brown alpaca. Copper Top is ideal for breeding to greys. He is a medium brown with a black recessive. When bred to grey he will produce grey or rose-grey 50% of the time with the balance of color being either brown or black. Introductory breeding fee: $2,500 |
