Extremely competitive class with the 2010 North American Black Male Reserve Color Champion also in 115-3.

Comments: Complete package. Good growth. Sound top-line. Good consistency and architecture. Good brightness and fineness. Uniform fleece.

¨ 3rd Place/10, "Full Fleece Bay Black Juv Male", North American Alpaca Show (Level V, Amanda

VandenBosch).  Santiago's first show as a juvenile.

We have been looking for a new solid black male to add to our program for many years now and we finally found him at the 2010 North American Alpaca Show. He was still a juvenile, but to look at him you would think he's ready to work due to his well developed frame.

When you see him, the first thing most notice is his beautiful head with short muzzle, correct ear set and shape. The eye is then drawn to his balanced frame supported by a set of legs even a runway model would appreciate.  His motion and gate is fluid (in fact, we imagine him carrying a container of water on his head and not spilling a drop as he moves about).

And, as to his fleece ...

Glowing brightness (like his dad's).

Super soft handle.

Superb coverage with a dense top knot and heavy fleece to the ground.

Remarkable consistency in terms of fineness, crimp frequency and amplitude, staple organization, and (perhaps most important for a black) color.

We did not have to stray too far from home for him as he is one of A.L. Paca's Revolution's offspring!  Besides Revolution, his pedigree includes the genetic powerhouses: Peruvian Bueno (Alianza) and Accoyo's King, Royal Fawn and Caligula.  See his Pedigree below for more on his heritage.
