The Aga Khan appears as a clone of his great grandfather, Shere Khan, perhaps the most recognized and famous herdsire in Peru.  Both share the same physical frame and supreme density with coverage beyond compare.

The Aga Khan is the hands down winner of the most accolades of any alpaca we own.  Khan has been described as "...my, oh my", "...this is a whole 'nother alpaca", "...he will take your breeding program to the crest of the wave", "...dense, dense and dense", "...excellent confirmation and a super dense yet fine fleece", "...fleece which is consistent from top knot to tail",  "...as close to the ideal male as I have seen", "...he has all of the qualities that we need to aim for in our breeding programs (K. Buhrmann)", "...an ideal alpaca (M. Safley)".  The great comments keep rolling in.

This is a male you simply must see to believe!  One look of this guy will not be enough.

Breeding fee: $7,500

Owned by Brenda and Frank Crum of Golden Spirit Alpaca Ranch.

Note regarding 2008 availability: The Aga Khan returned back to our farm following his sale at the Futurity in order to get outstanding breedings accomplished.  While here, he might be available for additional breeding sales.  Please contact us for additional info on this.

Sheer Galaxy

Winner of 6 Championships and 7 Blue Ribbons in AOBA certified shows.

¨ 1st Place & Color Champion, 2008 Carolina Alpaca Celebration Fleece Show.

¨ Best Brightness, 2007 PAOBA Fleece Show.

¨ 1st Place & Color Champion, 2006 Ohio AlpacaFest (Level V).

¨ 1st Place & Color Champion, 2006 Virginia Alpaca Owners & Breeders.

¨ 1st Place & Reserve Color Champion, 2006 Empire Alpaca Extravaganza (Level V).

¨ 1st Place & Color Champion, 2006 Big E.

¨ 1st Place & Color Champion, 2006 Southeastern PA Alpaca Show (SEPA).

¨ 2nd Place, 2006 AOBA National Conference (his first show at 7 months of age).

Sheer Galaxy perhaps has the most advanced fleece on our farm. It is considerably dense, consistent, and has brightness like no other. It is so lustrous it can just about reflect moon beams! Additionally, his frame is idea - nice and square with large bone and a very correct jaw set.

Sheer Galaxy has enjoyed a terrific start in the show ring and has won acclaim from some of our industries best judges. Their comments include…

Mike Safley at 2006 NY Alpaca Extravaganza: absolutely beautiful, bright fleece; nothing to improve upon here; couldn't ask for a nicer animal.

Wade Gease at 2006 Ohio AlpacaFest: correct from every angle; very nice frame; extremely consistent; bountiful brightness; look of satin with a silky feel.

Sheer Galaxy settled his first female at just 1 year 9 months of age (Aug '07).  We have been covering our best Aga Khan, Simba and Linebacker daughters with him. These females have bright fleeces already but with Sheer Galaxy's genetic contribution, the resulting offspring should truly shine!

Snowmass Linebacker

¨ 1st Place, 2002 Kentucky Classic, White 2 Year Old Males (4 in class.  This was his debut in the show ring).

¨ 4th Place, 2002 North American Alpaca Show (9 in class). Judge: Julio Sumar.

A major goal of any business when making a product is to limit unwanted variation, in other words, to improve quality control.  Consistency of production is likewise, an area needing attention in a breeding program.  In order to consistently produce high quality offspring, two components are required: high quality genetic lineage, and prepotency for passing those genetic characteristics to each and every offspring.  These were the two major objectives achieved in creating Linebacker.

Linebacker’s sire, Snowmass Cchatanca (full Alianza), is a full Peruvian having a micron of 18.4 and CV of 20.1 at 2 years, 10 months of age.

Linebacker’s dam, Peruvian Charmingway (full Alianza), is one of Snowmass' finest production females.  Charmingway won Champion in the first national Futurity in Scottsdale (1998).  She is the mother to such other well respected males as Snowmass Millennium.  Like the rest of Linebacker’s lineage, Charmingway also has a remarkably fine fleece with a micron of 17.1 and CV of 22.8 at 3 years of age.

Both Cchatanca and Charmingway are out of Peruvian Hemingway who has proven to be one of the most influential herd sires in this country.

Employing Hemingway as grandfather on both sides of Linebacker concentrated this superior quality genetic material and provided us with an exquisite and elite male who is 25% more likely to produce crias of consistent high quality than perhaps any other of the 2-dozen herd sires in our breeding program.

Linebacker made his debut in the show ring at the 2002 Kentucky Classic where he won first place in White 2 Year Old Males. A level 3 judge in the ring (and a level 5 judge outside the ring) both remarked at the completeness of the package.
