A.L. Paca's Bittersweet Coco

Bittersweet Coco was offered at the 2006 East Meets West Auction, Lot #32.  She sold for $58,000 making her the highest selling consignment at the auction.

Thank-you to Nancy Johanson of Brookhollow Farm for her purchase.

Coco came with a Unique Championship Guarantee. We guaranteed to the new owner that she would win a color championship for them.  Then, just 2 weeks after the auction, Coco was entered into her first show, the AOBA Certified 2006 Southeastern PA (SEPA) alpaca show. Coco won the Brown Female Color Championship and our guarantee was fulfilled!

Name: A.L. Paca's Bittersweet Coco

Born from a family of champions!

DOB: 10/2/05, ARI: 30379558

Sire: Jericho 69i (True Black)
• Jericho has one of
the most striking fleece architectures we have ever seen on a black herdsire.

Dam: DFA Coco (Dark Brown).
• DFA Coco and her 2003 daughter, "A.L. Paca's Adora Mora Yu", have proven to be two of our most complete packages in dark colored alpacas. Both have true conformations with fine, dense and soft handling fleeces which exhibit an excellent architecture with bold, high frequency crimp extending from lower leg through mid top-knot.

Color: Medium Brown with black points (Her color recessive is True Black).

Breed to: Your choice of any A.L. Paca's Farms herd sire. Some possibilities to consider include our 4-time color champion Midas's Angelo, our
9-time color champion Simba of A.L. Paca's or our 11-time color champion The Aga Khan

Price: Sold for $58,000 (highest selling consigned alpaca) at the East meets West Alpaca Auction, August 2006 in NJ.

Included: Unique Championship Guarantee

Financing Available: Yes, 1 year term.

Comments: Bittersweet is from an extremely results oriented bloodline. Her dam, DFA Coco (pictured left below), has produced two other crias so far, both are multi-color championship winners. Coco's third cria, Bittersweet, now awaits her turn in the ring and a position as a foundation female in a high-end colored breeding program.

Bittersweet Coco's dam and siblings...

DFA Coco

DFA Coco's first and second offspring are shown to the right. Her third and most recent cria is Bittersweet Coco.  DFA Coco is an unusually consistent producer as all three of her produce share similar body type and fleece characteristics.

A.L. Paca's Adora Mora Yu

A.L. Paca's Adora Mora Yu, a 4 time Color Champion, is the first offspring of DFA Coco and a full sister to Bittersweet Coco.  You might have seen Adora's first cria, 17-time champion A.L. Paca's Revolution, in the silver grey male classes.

A.L. Paca's Juan Valdez

A.L. Paca's Juan Valdez, a 3 time Color Champion (2C/1R), is the second offspring of DFA Coco.
