Our notes from
the 2010 AOBA National Auction:
Bidding on Lot#
7 (A.L. Paca's Revlon) opened up at $10,000. The bids then came in fast and
furious from around the room (some potential buyers later told us that they
could not get a bid in as others were coming in so quickly). Bid increments
were in the $2,000 to $5,000 range. Applause from the audience broke
out at around $36,000. When $40,000 was reached, there was a pause of
about half a minute or so (we thought this was going to be where she sold
at) until someone fired off a new bid of $41,000. And from there, she
quickly ran up to $46,000 which was her final sales price.
We would like to
extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who placed a bid on her, and to Barb and Mark Bender of Foggy Bottom Farms in
Isanti, MN for the final winning bid on this wonderful rose-grey female! |
